To developers, what are the requirements for completing the "Defeat 10 units in one shot using one item" card? I tried this on Clonehenge casual, sandwiching the path of the units between 2 ice towers right at the start ($30 was provided) and killed 10 using the plague item in one shot. However it didn't count.
The Plague item doesn't kill everyone at once, so you really have to use the Smart Mine for this one. It's not simple, but try having everyone run through a Flamethrower to lower their health, then hit them with either a slow tower or a slow item, then, when they're all bunched up, hit them with Smart Mine. That should do the trick!

Btw, I really think the next patch should add Fast Forward x 3 (or 4). Since im aiming at endless ones & it takes like forever even with FF x 2
Power towers do not stack.

Regarding FFx3+, unfortunately, that isn't really possible with our engine. We actually had this in before we QA'd the game, but once we QA'd things, it became apparent that this ate up all the memory and crashed the game immediately. So, it got pulled. That said, we're still hoping to do this at some point, so it's possible that we'll find a workaround. It's worth mentioning, though, that once the glitch with Endless mode is fixed in the upcoming patch, you will not be able to play endless for that long anymore

I'm choosing to vote with my dollars by not buying the game. If my expectation is that as a casual player with the difficulty setting on the lowest setting I WON'T finish the game (which you are implying is the correct expectation for me), why buy it? Can I get a discount for getting less of the game?

Hopefully the developers get my vote. I'd love to give them money, but as I suspect I won't finish the game as it is presented to me, I'll choose not to begin. You may dismiss this as my loss, but there are plenty of games to play that I can enjoy being able to finish. When casual mode in FR2 means casual, I'll buy it.

It didn't work. 2 slow towers, slow item to bunch them up, flame item to reduce health, smart mine to kill 10 (the meter went from 0/150 to 10/150 immediately) but no card. Did it twice and still the same result.

Hi MarkDF,
You're right, the casual difficulty should be accessible to the casual player. That is why we have rebalanced a few of the later maps we thought did not fit that description, in casual. We have also created a little tutorial mid-game explaining some of the novelties in the layout of missions (yes, I'm speaking of you, multi-leveled gameplay!), and how to approach them. Those will be coming out in an update which we're submitting in just a few days. 'Tough' will still be tough. And heroic.... well, even we have a hard time with that one sometimes

would be nice to have fieldrunners reduced to 0.99 cents
people can start with that and then progress to 2!

uhh, no.. That is a stupid idea. The developers created a spectacular game and deserve the low price of 2.99.. Dont be so cheap.

Default Casual

What is the hocus poke us level?

I Was one of the original strong voices against the casual mode being too difficult. Since reading the run down on the towers features the other day on this forum, I went back to certain levels to beat a handful of them on tough to gain stars in order to earn the spark tower.

I was stuck on the frying pan for ages, and had about given up. I worked through a good handful of tough levels, earned the spark tower, and was able to beat the frying pan level first try with the exact same route/paths I had used previously. I then succeeded on the following levels, not without a good amount of trial/error, but I just finished end of doom on casual.

Not sure what to think of the difficulty level progression now as I had to beat tough rated levels to earn the rail gun, spark, and ice towers, which made casual still tough, but doable and entirely different.

I was kinda bummed when I finished end of doom to find another map; Hocus poke us, with pretty vague tool tips.
Can someone please advise whats going on with the boxes with numbers on them and what I need to do please?

Also, I found it strange that the cutscenes after end of doom made you feel like you had beaten the game for the moment; not really upset, just perplexed.

One more question please; is hocus poke us the last map/level for real this time? I'm really wanting to start going through the other maps I havent started on tough yet. The puzzle levels are by far my least favorite, so any hints, whether it be via PM or whatever would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks dudes! Sorry for all the high maint questions!

Hey all ! I'm new to the forums but I've been reading this thread quite frequently because I'm really excited about the game. When I first saw it on the App Store, I decided to read up on it before making a purchase. Definitely worried about the difficulty and to be honest, that's what stopped me. I see several people struggling to get by on even the casual difficulty, who are probably even more hardcore TD players than I am.

I had a bit of hope that perhaps the update would make changes but from what it seems, these tweaks are only quite subtle. Not buying until I hear significantly more feedback that the casual mode is actually easy to pass.

You really shouldn't stop yourself from buying the game just down to this thread. It's really not as hard as everyone is making it out to be.

As long as you follow TD basics ie putting slow towers before your big damage towers and trying to get your fieldrunners to meet when they have two paths you'll be fine on casual.

hey, would appreciate any help I can get on two questions:

Of the towers you can buy for coins, which one should I buy first (given that it takes so much time to earn coins)?

Do most people who 3-star levels use items? Or can most levels be 3 starred without items?
