App description: On your marks, get setGO!!!

Enjoy playing six sports events in a retro atmosphere in 8bit.

We offer 6 different Olympic sports that will force you to push yourself to the limit to climb to the top of the podium:

-100 meters: Race the Queen of the Track. Demonstrate that you are faster than the wind.

-Long jump: This is a good test of power and lifting. Be sure to get power and jump into the air at the right time with the right angle.

-110 Meter Hurdles: You need speed and accuracy. You must be fast, but also watch out for the obstacles. One stumble could ruin your career.

-Javelin: Do you have a lucky arm? Its time to prove it by throwing the javelin further than your rivals.

-50 M Freestyle: If you move like a fish in the water and in the pool you can win!

-Weight lifting: Prove that youre the strongest.

You can play a single event or try your luck in the whole tournament. If you think that you are prepared to go one step further, compete directly with your friends or with any opponent. You can even challenge your Facebook friends, competing in a round robin. We also invite you to use the hashtag #retrosports follow by your mark if you want to share your best results on Twitter.

Retro Sports will hook you as you get into the routine of the game, and it will force you to give it your best effort. In fact, did you know that you can burn calories playing? Give it a go and check it out.

Since its a competition at the global-level, the struggle for the gold medal is also played in the Game Center. Only the best person can take home the gold medal.

Has the word 'retro' in the title ! I'm in !

Downloading now, impressions in a minute or two

Edit - Well loving this ! Its true retro heaven. Its similar to Track n Field with the graphics and some of the audio, the events are pretty good. Had a go sprinting for the long jump but couldnt run fast enough holding my ipod, put the ipod down to tape the buttons and really got the speed going.

The hurdles is tricky trying to time the jumps right (fell over 3 times !). Swimming i found tricky.

But for 69p its a great little collection of events. My only criticism is i wish there were more than just 6 events.

Looks good. Probably gonna grab this one soon. Are there achievements via Game Center for this, and leaderboards?

Would love to see one that had gymnastics, diving and maybe judo, taekwondo or boxing!

So what's up with not only consumable IAP (coins) but also IAP to "remove ads" in a paid game?

Love the looks of this, but the "remove ads" IAP is holding me back. Why would a paid game have ads to begin with?

There are no ads in the game to remove. Looks like this was to be a freemium game with ads and they changed their mind and made it a paid app, but forgot to take the ad removal text out of the IAP. Not sure why you need coins in this anyway via IAP...

The coins are used to let you continue a championship after failing an event. How's the balance? Let me put it to you this way: expect to do nothing but single events only. This IAP turns what is already an extremely shallow game, into one that's shallow and insulting.

It's true there don't appear to be any ads. It's mind boggling though, how the developers could "forget" to remove the text as it appears on every single IAP option in the store. (And the store is certainly not hard to find.)

Button positioning basically forces you to play with your device lying down flat, using your index fingers. Even on iPhone.

What's sad, is that a couple of the events (javelin in particular) show definite potential, the art is appealing, and with a modicum of common sense plus a large helping of humility, this could have been a fun title. As is though, it just leaves a bad taste in one's mouth.

Downloaded it and yep, good 8 bit fun. Not mind blowing but worth the money!
