It's kind of a blend of both...there is a mixture of both elements to make it easy to play on the limited scree real estate by retaining the fun and strategy of the original game.

Default Bar

I like the game, it is brilliant! One thing I wanted to ask: In the Time Game there is a music playing when I can only put a card to the bar. I think this is not in the two other game modes. Can you tell me why?

In general, a player should find out himself whether a card needs to be put to the bar or not. However for the time mode, we found that it can be frustrating to decide under time pressure whether a card needs to be put to the bar or not, and so you ended up dropping it there far more often than necessary. And frustration is nothing you should experience with this game, so we introduced this mode, which switches to the fast-turning stopwatch and requires a bit of extra luck to make the most out of this situation. From the tester feedback, this turned out to be the best solution for this mode.

Default Personal Review

I really like the game. It has a streamlined set of rules that allows you to play the game in a shorter period of time without giving away what makes the game exciting in the first place.

Cafe International is a classic German board game. It won the German Best Family Game of the Year in 1989. It is now out of print. This iOS version is a great way for you to play the game without having the difficulty in finding the tabletop copy.

I highly recommend you get this game. I published a review while I was beta-testing the game here, maybe it will help to convince you in getting this game.

Now, I can't wait for the multiplayer support that will be released in the next version. :-D

I want to know that as well. Will you do a multiplayer mode where you get alerted when someone else did their turn? Like asynchroneus or whatever you call that?

The first version of the game supports up to 4 players. You can set any number of them as AI bots or as human players. If you set one or more players as human players, you will play the game in pass-n-play mode.

The support for online multiplayer mode via Game Center will be added by the developer in the next version.

I just started looking into online multiplayer, but it will be turn-based (introduced withh iOS 5), so you can either play life (each one taking it's turn directly after each other), or be notified when it's your turn and play multiple games in parallel and over a longer time period or with opponents in completely offset timezones-- so that they usually sleep or work while you don't

That sounds nice! I think I will give it a try!

Default Loved the board, love the iOS game even more!

I bought this yesterday, been looking forward to it since I saw it discussed on BoardGameGeek (that's me!!). I love the game play, very smooth and really addictive. Early days yet I guess but it's great to see the other users are agreeing.
