Hey, great game here! My wife is really having a lot of fun with it. However, ever since she unlocked the second area, the game crashes whenever she tries to check on her puppies...any idea what may be causing this? iphone 4, most recent iOS version.

edit: actually, it seems to be crashing as soon as we reach the title screen now. we cannot get the game to load beyond this point. tried restarting the device as well.

Thanks for letting me know, I'm sorry to hear the game crashed like that ... I'd assume it may be a memory issue, but I just played up to level 24 fine on a iPod Touch 4, which has half the memory. I'll look out for more cases and do more testing of course, but if anyone playing on an iPhone 4 has gone past level 22, please can you let me know?

I think you must be nearly there ... although if you've lost kittens (if their mood drops to zero) then you may need to re-rescue some of them! This can make the game slightly longer, but you re-rescue 3-4 per level, so not too much longer : )

BUT the gameplay in the match-3 and occassional puzzle levels is just so fantastic that I have to own it. There just isn't another match-3 game (aside from maybe Cubis Creatures) that's hooked me as much as this one in recent memory.
Good stuff ... I think Puppy Sanctuary is the one for you then ... as mentioned above, in Kitten Sanctuary the kittens could wander off if you don't look after them. The puppies are more resilient and don't do this ... although ... if you have a sea of unhappy faces staring at you after completing each level, you may find you have to play the sim part! : )

I have been finding myself playing some of the sim part when I see one of pups is unhappy. It's fun, but just prefer the puzzle part of the game. The thought of "rescuing" the dogs is a nice component even there though.

As one preferring the match-3, I always play the timed games. It gets fairly challenging, which is great.

It's really a credit to Adobe that our old Photoshop's still work ... any older than Photoshop 2 though and you'll be using DPaint III on an Amiga ; )

Thanks ... I think someone at Apple read your post, it's on the US store's New & Noteworthy list! There's not been many reviews of this game so I was a bit worried it'd pass under Apple's radar ... phew!

That's great to hear. I think in general Puppy Sanctuary's levels are more of a challenge. For example, bomb power ups only take one level of 'red' away from tiles, instead of clearing them ... the same goes for locks and baskets.

When starting a new game also (remember there are three separate player profiles available for this), there's a 'tricky' mode you can enable ... it fills in each level with at least one red per tile, so it's only really for die hard match 3 fans!

The game uses a fair amount of video memory when playing, so doing a full reset (hold down the power button and 'slide to power off') may help resolve this. This has already fixed a sound issue (earlier in this thread) and a comment on the US store indicated it resolved something similar sounding on an iPad 1. Hopefully that'll work, but either way I'll look into it more and see if anyone else reports a similar occurrence. Thanks : )
Hey, its me again. Tried resetting both the app, and the phone itself, but it still keeps crashing, when I try to resume my game.

Not sure what's the cause, I have tried closing all other apps and even deleting 300+mb worth of apps from my phone. It used to work until I reached lvl 20.

Anyway really hope we can find a solution, I really liked the game

(using iphone 4, no JB).

Sorry for being thick, but... is there any goal in the puppies screen? Am I supposed to do something with them?

That's a good question. There is no actual objective in the sanctuary sections, it's a case of collecting gems in-game to buy them things and keep them happy. I guess maybe buying all the items and have all the puppies nice and happy could be considered a goal?

A small reward of having happy puppies is that they appear in the game on some levels. If you grab one of these puppies and hold them up to a tricky tile, they will knock the tile out!

Hi Terelin, thanks for the update ... I'm sorry for the continued crashing, especially as you've purchased the game.

From the US store's feedback it seems you are not alone. I think Puppy Sanctuary is using just little bit too much of some devices' resources in certain places, hence the randomness of the issue. I am of course working frantically on a fix and will have an update submitted to Apple asap.

I see. I was worried that I was supposed to do something specific I find them quite cute and love to read their description, funny stuff.
On a side note, the game crashes a lot on my first gen iPad, with 5.1.1. Yes, I do the procedure of closing everything and reset the device, still crashes. I know the first iPad sucks, but do you have plans to optimize the game? Currently having to play on my iPhone small screen only

Sorry, yes, there is a compatibility issue with the 1st Gen iPad, I'm using a bit too much ram in places ... lessons have been learned and a fix will be submitted to Apple later today. I'll post here as soon as it becomes available on the app store.
