Question Wonder what this will mean for current WiiMote/iOS users...

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/...oco-controller

Sure, it's "wired," but connecting looks a heck of a lot simpler and more elegant than:

1) fumbling with, essentially, two controllers (which in my case means messing around with the bodies and cables of the WiiMote and Classic Controller Pro, plus plugging in the second AA battery that I normally leave out to save power from accidental button presses);
2) going into Settings;
3) enabling BTstack;
4) launching the emu of choice;
5) enabling WiiMote detection;
6) pairing with WiiMote...

Ahh, but the Coco doesn't provide for multiplayer, which means WiiMotes will still be relevant...

How is this better than the iCP? Pass.

Steps 2-3 are unnecessary and step 4 applies to every app and emulator, regardless of controls.

Sure to be hellz cheaper, both in purchase price and shipping costs. Disadvantage, only one analog thumbstick versus two.

I'd get an iCP or two if the price were lower by $20-30 and I could pick them up locally.

How's that? Skipping these doesn't work for me.

EDIT: I see what you mean now. Most mortals would leave it on BTstack. However, I use other Bluetooth controller devices with my iPad for work and must switch protocols when playing emus.

A-ha! You got me... on one point.

Actually, my BTStack is set to "none" and I'm pairing my controls just fine on my 4S and iPad. I guess cheaper is okay if you don't mind the wait (at least a year or never) or the cutting of corners (below) on your product.

My major gripes are:
-no battery (sucking power straight from idevices)
-no bluetooth (wired, looks clunky, cheap, and even atrocious on an iPad)

Clearly there is no perfect solution for everyone.

Just checked the kickstarter page again and noticed this: "500,000: we will add a second analog stick to coco!" I was wondering why the analog stick was placed on the right side instead of the left, now I know! Anyway, just out of sheer curiosity, are you seriously planning on using this controller with your iPad after seeing the picture above? It looks like a wired iPhone case with buttons to me.

Edit: The kickstarter project got cancelled.

is this a hidden forum now? can anyone see this?!
