Wuggle - Awesome Word Game

I searched but did not find a thread for this word game. I just found out about it. It's from 4J Studios, who have a ton of games for other platforms. This is their first for iPhone. Here's the description:

Quote:
Wuggle: a verb meaning to play with, or to arrange letters.

Wuggle is the exciting, new tactile word game that’s got everyone wuggling. Move the letters around the screen to form a word then strike them together to submit the word. Your word score is based word length and individual letter value.

Boost your score with multiplier chains. Spell a word with four or more letters, and you gain a x2 score multiplier. For each subsequent word with four or more letters, you can double the multiplier up to x256!

Wuggle has two exciting game modes:

Survivor is a race against the clock to find as many words as you can before the time runs out. Extra time can be gained by entering words, and the greater the word score the greater the time gained.

Tile GP has no time limit but instead has a finite tile limit. Play stops after you have used all the available tiles. Choose from either 50, 100 or 250 Tile GP games.

So this just leaves, one question…

Do you wuggle?

FEATURES:

TACTILE ACTION
Intuitive control and solid physics make arranging words a snap

ADDICTIVE GAMEPLAY
Two exciting game modes, Survivor and Tile GP

ROBUST DICTIONARY
Wuggle’s dictionary recognizes over 80,000 words

HIGH SCORE TABLES
Try to beat your personal best and boast to your friends

PRESS REVIEWS:

Square-Go Magazine, 8/10, "...a great and addictive game... not only enjoyable for the words, but also for the way in which you score them."
I'm liking it, it's a good twist and believe me, I have a ton of word games.

No one? It's a awesome game. I forgot to mention controls.

Basically as shown in the pic above, you have tiles with letters. Drag them around to form a word then swipe your finger in a line though them to spell the word. I'm addicted to this.

Haha.. I think people are tired of word games right now. The App Store genre for this stuff is oversaturated. This looks good though.

Actually, I love word games. I keep 1 full page dedicated to just word games. From the screenshots, it looks like it would play like word Fu, Wich is one of my least favorite word games. It was pretty weak. Is it different than that?

I love WordFu

But I also love Textropolis, Wordsworth, and a whole bunch of others. I'd like to hear some impressions if anyone from here has tried Wuggle.

What the hell. Just bought it. I love word games, so ... first impressions:

- Not a bad play mechanic. Drag the tiles around the screen and they react pretty much like you'd expect them to. They rotate and have inertia and friction.

- You really have to be careful how you place the tiles. To commit a word you have to swipe over the world, but the direction of the swipe determines how the game tries to spell the word. You can spell "rout" if you swipe left to right, but it'll be an invalid word if you swipe right to left. However, you can spell it "tuor" and swipe right to left and it'll work. This applies to spelling up and down as well. You also have to be careful you don't bump tiles prematurely, as it can register as an attempt to commit a word, and if it spells a valid word before you've assembled the letters the way you want, you lose the bonus multiplier. (This is acknowledged in the tutorial, as it seems to have been designed that way on purpose.)

- Lots of polish in this game, nice little accents and notions all over the place.

- No global leaderboard unfortunately.

Overall I don't think my $2 went to waste.

I remember when this game was released. I've added it to my AppSniper list back then though I don't think it's expensive, just to keep track of it.

Thank you for your review guys.

Did not see this previously. I like a lot of word games. At this price point - worth a go.
