1) There doesn't seem to be a way to tell if you've already caught a monster previously while in battle. The only way to check while not in battle is to manually check your monsters while in town.

2) Silver can be found in caves/dungeons in the form of treasure chests, and also by completing quests. Gold can be earned by completing certain quests.

Actually you can check anywhere by looking at the monsterpedia. If a monster is in there it means you have had it at one time. Also we will add some graphical element to show you monsters which you have never had in a future update.

Demonic are those that have a demon element icon, no?

Do you have to catch a monster for it to appear in the monsterpedia or just encounter it?

Thanks for the replies - really am enjoying the game! I'm glad I bought it after hearing the dev would be supporting and improving this! It's a lot of fun, but a teeny bit slow to grind right now. Still awesome!

Death element icon actually. So all monsters of death elements are demonic type? A bat fiend that looks demonic to me and yet it's an air element. A move that's effective against demonic types wont work on Bat Fiend, or does less damage to it. Perhaps, it's because it has higher physical defense or magical defense. I dont know. If we are supposed to figure it out ourselves, then I'm fine with it. Figuring it out is the fun part and challenging, but if theres a way to make it easier, then would be nice to know what is it. lol.

Same here, I wish there was some way to know... I don't even think using Analyze on a monster shows you what type they are beyond their element. And it's really not all that obvious either for reasons you mentioned above... I'm never sure if an attack I THINK should be doing more damage isn't because the enemy actually isn't of the type I think it is, or if their defenses are just too high compared to other monsters of their type. The human one is actually even tricky for me because a lot of times I find myself thinking "alright, this looks like a person" and the move does very little damage to them... seems strange.

Maybe that can be added to the game at some point? Either along with the element icon, or even as additional information only given when you use Analyze. It might actually give me a reason to use the move

Yes, that is very true. We'll see how we can make that more obvious. Thanks!

First off, great game. I never played Pokemon but saw some glowing reviews for this and decided to take a chance. I'm glad I did.

My main "wish list" item is a revamp of the Monster screen. Right now, it's a pain in the neck to swipe through all the monsters and I only have 30% of them captured. There's a lot of wasted screen real estate and I'm still not sure how the sort works.

Suggestions:
  • Add filter dropdowns for element type, level (10, 20, 30, etc), evolution level (25%, 50%, etc.)
  • Add the ability to highlight a monster from the top and bottom row and "switch them"
  • Tighten up the screen and show the selected monster's stats to the right instead of a popup
  • Add a warning when the "move all to bottom" button is touched (been burned by this a few times)
  • Allow movement of multiple monsters. Example: I filter for Fire monsters above level 20, sorted by hitpoints, select three, and tap move. The three selected monsters will be moved to the first three open slots in the top row.

Hopefully this will give you some ideas on how to make monster management manageable (say that three times fast!). Thanks for reading.
