I'm trying to buy the IAP and I keep getting an error code: The operation Couldn't be completed. (SKErrorDomain error 0.)

Default Ols School games

This is a great app, just waiting to see if a Coleco Vision app ever gets made, still milking out my 82 Coleco.

Kaboom plays well, but on the iPhone my finger obscures the game area too much. I'm sure it's even worse for games that use the d-pad. I wish there was a windowed mode available like in Metal Slug 3. If you play on iPad is it full screen or is it windowed?

Full screen, but on the iPad there's room in the black band at the bottom (where it says Activision) to slide your finger without obscuring the game screen. I'd have much preferred proper relative touch rather than this where it jumps to where your finger is.

Oh, and a sarcastic thanks to Activision for putting Pitfall and Pitfall 2 in different game packs.

Cool, I hadn't checked this yet. Collection really should have had Cosmic Ark (there's a sucky clone on the app store) and Star Voyager in there.

Should probably sneak Solaris in there as well. (I love having that box up on my shelf, people see it and think Sun Solaris and wonder why it's from Atari... )

I think the larger problem with these old game collections is that many of our favorites were licenses from other companies, like Namco, or movie properties, like Star Wars. Take away the 3rd-party licenses from Atari and you're not left with much. Parker Brothers, something I loved back then, almost exclusively consisted of arcade conversions and movie tie-ins.

That's what is so neat about Activision. They created all these properties, and they still own them.

which makes it even more heartbreaking to see David Crane's "Jungle Adventure" Kickstarter fall so incredibly flat.
Did someone say MSX? I used to love playing pitfall 2 on that and decathlon. Wish someone would make some MSX emulator for the app store as some of the games were excellent (kings valley 2, maze of galious, penguin adventure), konami take note. If activision can do it so can you!

Love retro gaming!

Riddle Of The Sphinx used both joysticks, with the second being used to select items. Emulating it on a touch screen will be somewhat difficult.

I'm getting the same problem on my iPad. It's running iOS 6 beta. Worked fine with my phone running the same iOS but can't get loaded to iPad.

Obviously this collection is going to appeal mostly to folks who played these games back in the day. Folks like me for instance. I think Kaboom controls very well indeed here. I'll be grabbing the full unlock soon...

This is really great. Immediately downloaded the whole set! Would have been nice as an add-on to the Atari app though.
