That was another thing that confused me a bit initially.
Also worth noting, your starting deck must be somewhat randomized as the second time I stalled the game it was a totally different deck (now a fire deck with a hint of darkness, much more fun to play then the previous nature with a splash of water).

Hello guys

My name is Steve and basically I am the lead designer of Spellcraft, here at ThreeGoblins.

Was interesting to read your comments . Seems we confused you with the combat system and the ability to replace weaker cards with new ones.
Sorry this wasn't explained very well..we will have to make sure it is!

Incidentally someone mentioned the slower pace. I agree totally which is why it's getting a speed boost on the next update, any day now.

Hopefully I will get to play some of you in some games. Of course the number of players isn't huge yet,but when we get the iPhone version out next month, it should pick up.

Any other suggestions you have would be great.

Cheers

Why Are Scenarios Locked?!

Hey Steve! really enjoy the game and i purchased some cards thinking i would be playing this for some time to come. i play single player campaign only. i am REALLY concerned about something and that is that once i play a campaign scenario i can't seem to play it again. it becomes "locked" with the skull. what the heck? are you saying in single player i can only play the campaign once! 12 games and the that's it!! please say it ain't so....thanks

You have to defeat each scenario to progress to the next level.

Once you've beaten all scenarios everything opens open again with your level increased.

As you've seen, you cannot replay a scenario once you've beaten it on your current level.

If that makes any sense.

now that makes better sense, thanks sladeums! do you know if these levels you speak of are actually levels where your faction gains something (more cards, better cards, more health) or are these levels just increasing AI difficulty?

Do higher levels give a better payout than 5 gold per win?

I've not seen any advantages.
You can only get more cards from buying them as far as I can tell.
I may have missed something, tho.

I'm only level 2 and the opposing AI / cards may be moderately improved so far ... honestly I didn't pay super close attention through the first round to really fully ascertain, so it may be my imagination.

Yeah ... because I'm probly telling you guys a buncha wrong stuff.

Just noticed it looks like you have to beat 10 opponents/scenarios per level, instead of all 12 like I originally thought.

Hello all,

Yes, you have to defeat any 10 of the current 12 regions. Once you do that, you are granted a level and all 12 regions are then available again.

Every few levels the AI gets a meaner deck. Later, some of those are very mean indeed.

Note that these 12 regions are only the beginning, as they are tied to the initial 4 factions. You might prefer to fight against undead or frost for example. They are coming.

The next expansion is the undead faction, which will give 3 new regions.
