Didnt know there's a new runner game out so I guess i'll be picking up 2 titles this week. What a weak week, but at least some breathing room from the last 2 weeks' credit eaters.

And it's funny how the description starts with "Tired of running?. Is time to fly!" then gives you a runner game still.

Definitely will check this out, partly because the graphics remind me of Super Rope.

Decent little endless runner game, similar to Hypership Out of Control. You move vertically up while dodging obstacles and collecting coins. Very cute graphics, 3 chances before you die, and a few powerups like coin magnet, shield, etc. There's also goals like in Tiny Wings-- accomplishing these increases your score multiplier.

My biggest issue with this game is that other iterations have already done it way better. There's literally only 4 powerups (3 if you don't count the score bonus). Coin grinding is very very slow-- an average player just starting might get 75-150 coins a game. The first tier upgrade for each powerup is 250, but the second is 1,500....i imagine it only gets steeper after. It would be okay if your score gave you bonus coins or something, but nope. Your only source of income is just from playing for long periods of time. Achieving goals gives the player nothing except score multiplier, so it feels a bit empty and pointless. The player doesn't really get rewarded for trying.

Hypership mixes it up by constantly making play in different ways. Mechanic Panic is fast paced while also encouraging skillful, spontaneous play. Ninjatown: Trees of Doom plays like a puzzle where you have to plan moves ahead while also reacting fast enough to avoid the next obstacle. This game has none of those. The controls are tilt only (no other options), and the physics feel very "heavy" and cumbersome compared to similar titles like Tiny Wings or Fluffy Diver. The level design is also very tight and so you are constantly focused on avoiding a lot of generally unavoidable obstacles. The end result is that although you can take 3 hits before dying, you usually end up hitting one thing and not being able to recover before the constantly scrolling screen eats your ship.

One thing I do like a lot is the use of mines. You can hit them and then you have a short time to get out of their radius before they explode. The heavy physics, however, make this aspect less fun.

tl;dr: this game is not fast paced enough to actually be much fun, nor does it bring anything new to the genre. Steep currency grind also. I recommend skipping over this.
