Hey,
Can someone recommend a good quality Texas Hold'em poker game that has the following qualities? Most important: You can play vs smart computers when offline also important...good online play not as important, but preferred...good graphics, small size, low price. thanks! |

AHHH Texas Hold'em By Apple
Pros: Great graphics, in both landscape and portrait mode Playing in Portrait mode allows you to see full animations of the dealer and other players Smooth animation, graphics (even on old iphone) Easy controls Good, Simple Layout Money System, different casinos (with multiple tables in some) Smart opponents Ability to listen to own music Cons: No online play Randomness of cards seems strange at times (all in with AA, opponent calls with 4,6 offsuit and flops a full house???) All in all this is a great game, and for five bucks its DEFINITELY worth the price. I bought it a whiile ago and play everyday to this day. |

It does seem awesome, but with no online play is it still worth it? |

It does have local online play, if that matters to you

Live Poker by Zynga. It's free, has a huge online community, it connects to your facebook account, has free play and tournament modes, and you can play it either through facebook or using the zynga app

I would recommend Poker Superstars over Hold' Em. I had Hold 'Em before and I rarely played it. I got Poker Superstars and I played it a lot more often that Hold 'Em.

I was looking for a THE game a couple months ago. As popular as THE is, there are surprisingly few really polished games in the App Store.
I was unsure whether Apple's Hold Em would be worth the $5, but I'm happy with it. It's really nice and is suitable for me (a casual, non-obsessed player with no interest in multiplayer). I tried Imagine Poker, which was cute, but very rough around the edges. I believe it's recently had a price drop though if you're interested. |

I haven't played around with too many either but I'd agree with those who said Hold 'Em. I tend to go from game to game, rarely revisiting older titles. So I haven't played it in a while, but it was good times when I was into it. Unfortunately since it's Apple (and not an indie developer) you'll likely never see another update on it again (last one was just a few days after they released it), they don't have much incentive to.
