Just bought this and these are my first impressions. I love everything Square Enix so saying this is captivating and immersive is a very high compliment coming from me. La!La!La!L!La! - love that healing spell sung and it often comes at just the right time.

I'm playing on the new ipad and the cut scenes are beautiful but blurred. Let me say at the outset that this is addictive and VERY ENJOYABLE. Things that could be added would be retina graphics but not really necessary.the controls are good and I am having a lot if fun.

If you love rpg's and Square Enx games you will LOVE this. I have been playing it all morning. Once I began I just couldn't stop and only took a break to write this review but I'm loving it very much. I highly recommend getting this. No ugly IAP and an excellent game worth much more than $7. I would gladly pay similar to Square Enix prices for this like $20 upwards.

I have no problem paying for quality and a FULL GAME which this is. I don't like games like HORN where you have to buy IAP to upgrade weapons or NFL PRO 2013 where all the teams cost $52 but a game like this I will gladly open my wallet and you should too.

Okay, I ran into a major bug when fighting xenobia in the unstable space. This bug causes the game to freeze. This has happened 6 times do far and I have given up. This is on the new build. Yay the game is back on the hot new games list

As has been said before, if your game file is altered or corrupted it can cause some bosses to have unusually high stats, making them nigh impossible to beat. The game does not specifically check whether the device is jail broken AFAIK. That is why it was suggested that re-installing the game from the App Store is likely to solve the problem.

Those anti-piracy tricks are a traditional thing in the JRPG world, though. I bought a Dragon Quest 5 cart at a fleamarket once that turned out to be a bootleg. The game opens with a scene on a boat and because the program detected it was bootleg, it just never let the boat come into the harbor. The pirates had put a special save file on the cart to get around that but since I didn't know it was a pirate I deleted it.

I'm also failing to see how discouraging people from pirating your work makes a dev "greedy". This isn't some weekend project undertaken just for fun. The up front out of pocket costs of this project ran well into six figures and it took nearly three years to release.

I really want to get this but am hesitant given the control issues and the low res look on the iPad 3. Is anything being done to address these issues?
