This game is just absolutely gorgeous. It is a LOT like advance wars, but that is not even close to being a bad thing. The tutorial is straight to the point and the gameplay and animations are SILKY smooth. I can def. recommend an instant purchase for advance wars fans.

Ahhh! Toucharcade just HAD to announce Space Rogue today, which looks like a futuristic advance wars. Isn't Mecho Wars about bugs as well?

Rogue Planet is Humans vs Robots and there are no bugs in Mecho Wars that I know of. |

I Loved the graphical style of the screenshots, and I thought ?eternity's child? (is that the name?) was pretty rad, so I will be picking this up tonight!

Alright. The game is indeed gorgeous. I believe that this has been the game I've been looking for for a while now. It has so much depth and strategy involved that it is blowing my mind. I never got to finish Advance Wars (I sold it about halfway through with some other games, right around the time the DS came out). Anyways, it does indeed play out just as Advance Wars does. You are allowed to move certain number of spaces based on terrain and that terrain offers a certain percentage of defense. When you lose health, you can restore from cacti scattered throughout the environment. To attack, you touch your character, move him into place and touch the enemy. The battle plays out split screen just like the Nintendo version. The animations, again are beautiful. When you lose a battle, you simply restart from the beginning of the battle. As the app description says, it has single player and multiplayer and challenge modes. There should be enough content to last for a while. So far, so good. I love turn-based strategies and never played any of the other offerings in the App Store, so, I can't wait to hear from others and their comparisons to games of the same type. One quick question for those who've played Advance Wars: Couldn't you touch the enemy to see how many squares that particular character could move, so you could plan your move better? I don't see that as an option so far
