Default PDF and PRC/Mobi viewer.

I have iSilo and Stanza, but no Wifi in the house, so I need a way to xfer through Internet or cable or FTP into the Touch to load up PRC and PDF files. I have a Jailbroken device and know how to FTP to it. Any programs to display unprotected PRC/Mobi and PDF files? Thanks!

I am not back I am just using you people

I am out of anything iPhone-gaming related. Now I just use my Touch for maybe a game here and there (5 mins a day or so if at all) and use it mostly for contacts, notes, ebooks, etc.

Hi Deb. Try iStorage. It sports more import/export options than you can shake a stick at. I don't know if it will read PRC files as I have none. It works fine with PDF so long as they are not too large. For example, I had it crash when I tried to view a 90 MB PDF. It doesn't have a problem with files of reasonable size, however. For those large documents I use Good Reader.

Related question. How can I make an iPod Touch that is using WiFi with a PC that is using Internet and doesn´t have a wireless card?

" If your iPhone is jailbroken, you can add any book that is in Mobipocket’s PRC format to Kindle.app.

The file needs to be placed in Kindle’s eBooks folder, which is found in /var » mobile » Applications » random_hash_number » Documents » eBooks. You’ll have to find out what your Kindle.app’s hash is by comparing it to the date you installed the application."

Didn´t work because it´s coming up like a camera, not like a drive... grr.

I don't understand. What comes up like a camera? Can you use PhoneView and connect over USB? That is an option if you are a mac user, at least. But there must be something similar in the Windows world.

Oh, I have another Idea. Download Calibre and share your own Stanza library. Then, if Stanza can read PRC, you can share your books that way. If Stanza can not read PRC, you can always use Calibre to duplicate the content as an EPUB (which Stanza can read.)

I was able to go in using DiskAid but now I have to find out which is the Stanza app, and it´s taking a long time to open each and every folder. Sigh.

Stanza has its own sharing PC app. The problem is that the Touch is using WiFi and the PC doesn´t have Wifi, just a direct net connection, so it doesn´t recognize the files I shared with the Stanza PC app.

Stanza's desktop companion doesn't do much of anything. Calibre lets you share your library over the internet so you can access your books from anywhere. Both desktop and iTouch are connected to the internet, right? They just can't communicate locally. That sounds like it is what you are looking for, if I am not mistaken.
