And another stupid question, what does behind the back mean? I assume you mean a 3rd person endless runner where you obviously see the back right? Cause joypack jetride technically do you don't have a back perspective.

Correct. Jetpack Joyride would not be considered a behind-the-back runner. I think Greyskull was just mentioning it because it really was one of the first runners of any kind to use a mission-based system and that others, including many of the BTB runners listed here, use that system. But it should not go on this list.

Awp is correct. I was just referring to the mission sytem found in almost every new endless runner (and jumper...I favor endless jumpers, but more new endless runners are released, given that Temple Run and JJ are more recent hits than Doodle Jump). Usually exactly like Jetback Joyride's mission system, in that you are almost always given 3 missions at a time.

Well, another stupid question, but how does a game like Zaxxon qualify, I know it is an endless runner and all, and it is from the back view, but it has nothing to do with humans, trolls, zombies, etc... It's space.
If you define it as space, alot of space shooters would almost fall into this category. You could then almost include games like Boost 2 or Supersonic or Aaaaah if they had a ship or some other contraption. I know that these games aren't endless runners and have a FP point of view, but anyway, just though behind the back meant you were looking at someone's back, was a 3d game, but if it's not, you could add on a lot of shooters to the list, cause some of them are kind of endless. |

Thanks for the explanation, I'll take a closer look and add them on and yes, (u) is for universal.

Good point. I think maybe I will just remove Zaxxon and stick to running proper so that there is no ambiguity.

I'd rank Agent Dash, One Epic Knight and Subway Surfers in just about a three-way-tie after those. Then Amazing Runner and TheEndApp (sorry, E-P, I know that last one would probably be near the top of your list). Temple Run is and always will be a great game, but as is the case with any genre, the more and more "clones" add new features to the mix, the more it feels a little less exciting than it once was. |

Yeah, I know there is a heck of alot of them out there, every other day it seems like I download a free app that is one. Most are junk, but some are really good. I'm not much of an endless runner fan, but once in a while I do buy them like Blood Roofs or Temple Run Brave, if it is pretty good. But I think there of tons of them, wish I could help you more, but your list is pretty good. A lot of these behind the back runners are getting pretty good, and the best thing is they are free, so for people like myself that aren't runner fans, we can still play them without buying them.

Oh... just a note, seems All In Runner 3D was renamed to 3D City Runner.
