Feature creep and a different approach for level design has resulted in levels taking much longer to complete. However, on the bright side the levels are unique and allow for exploration (multi-path) and so much more! Additionally it allows us to use certain mechanics to spice up the game even more (pull a lever here, step on platform over there, push button in oder to turn things on/off).
We've also put a shitload of work into extending the engine itself to allow for awesome visuals. Characters, enemies have realtime shadows and awesome AI! A weather system with rain and thunder, Light and Shadow areas in which the player actually really get affected by it and a ton more. A new Parallax system etc.
We wanted to make sure that "The Other Brothers" is "different" and "fun". This of course meant we had to ditch our previous approach and therefore we have to play "ketchup" now
Looks like the "Impatience" list is growing! Get in line guys....
