ipod touch 2g, the OS3 upgrade went wrong. The Restores I had (alt + Restore) were reported to be corrupt. Had to do the upgrade again on another machine and the end result was all games saves and some other information was lost. Very very annoying.
So - would jailbreaking give me better options? Would I be able to take complete backups without iTunes which could be replaced without iTunes? iTunes should have checked the download file, checked the Touch status and checked the backup integrity - it did not. I do not trust it and would like an alternative that does not involve an incompetent bunch at Apple. |

I haven't heard of any other sort of backup programs through jailbreaking. My restores had always worked for me in the past.

Thanks. I will never ever update until a point version comes out from anything by Apple.
Nearly all the time my wifi does not work. If anyone has not updated - don't. |

Seems like a good option. I haven't really used much on my jailbreak except themes and folders.
