Monotaur (by Dobsoft Studios) - Universal tilt-based arcade game

Hi guys,

Our new game Monotaur has just been reviewed on the front page:

http://toucharcade.com/2012/11/05/mo...meets-pac-man/

I checked for a thread and one didn't exist, so thought I'd create it! We're happy to take feedback, and there's already an update waiting for review with Apple which will fix a few small things.

Cheers!

Was pumped for this. Will have to go somewhere, but will buy this when i get back home. I hope touch controls similar to Fireball SE be implemented though. Tilting the heavy ipad3 is a workout.

Game Impressions

I knew about it reading Jeff Minter's tweet/Blog post.
A little gem. I'm not a fan of tilt controls, but they work better than Tilt to live. I bought IAP to support devs

Game Center: masvil - feel free to add me telling you are from TA.
Do you need info about HDMI out and iCade to use your iDevice as a real game station? Go there and there and thank Connector and Menneisyys.

This is a gem of a game!

Yes, it's very similar to Tilt To Live, but with enough differences between them so the game stands firmly on its own feet.

The tilt controls are absolutely excellent, as good as Tilt To Live, and the different game modes promises of longevity.
Personally I like them all, but currently I'm addicted to Rage mode.

I would suggest that you buy to unlock all four game modes to support the developer instead of playing through the first mode to get them for free.
I think thats a dumb move, (sorry), from the developer to do it that way, as there's way too many freeloaders out there to make money that way.

Should have required to pay either upfront or pay to unlock only, IMO.

Great game, support the Dev so we can get more quality games in the future.

Thanks so much for the support guys! We've been pretty stoked by the general response to Monotaur, and hearing users wanting to actively support what we're doing is very humbling. The pay structure (or lack thereof) we went with in Mono is pretty consistent with our general philosophy of wanting as many people as possible to be able to play and enjoy our games. Monetisation is always tricky and we certainly don't profess to have found the perfect balance yet, but above all we just hope you like what we're doing. Thanks again guys

For anyone interested, Jeff Minter gave us a very nice write-up on Llamasoft's blog (masvil mentioned this somewhere above):

We realised as it was coming out that the minotaur connection might tickle his fancy, but didn't expect this!

So thank you Jeff, and thanks again everyone else
