No comments? A million cross platform downloads and no hubbub?

I'm confused, is this a fairly standard tower defense game with a few twists?

I'm also curious about this. The lack of hubbub is probably because there are a bunch of big releases and the hubbub hasn't gotten here yet.

I kind of want it, though. Hopefully someone will have impressions by morning.

Hi guys, the developer here.

You're right, no hubbub yet! Partly because it's difficult to get anyone excited about Windows Phone games. But that's why I've completely rebuilt it for iOS. I'm hoping you guys like it!

Feel free to ask me anything.

Here is the trailer if you want to see more:

Game Impressions

Okay, played the first 2 levels and for the price and universal, not bad. Don't expect to blow you away graphically, but gameplay is pretty good.
I like the idea of "digging" to set the path, however it is pre-determined and you, the player needs to make a choice, option A or B, should I go for 3-star rating, crystals, or gold, the choice is yours.

The towers are upgradable (kind of like Kingdom Rush with skills tree) and there are support towers (mining crystals is needed), this is where the choice of digging path comes in.

Graphically, could be better with animations for enemies and "explosions", but (IMO) doesn't detract from the gameplay.

Sound, basic, fits the game.

Gameplay, strongest part of the game. You must strategize on your placement and digging route.

Overall, pretty good, but good be better, with all the TD games out there, this one is pretty good. It offers a variety of gameplay and skill tree that is quite extensive. Also, no IAP's or any I could find. For the price and universal support, worth a download.

Thought I'd throw in a quick review in since this thread seems pretty slow going and this game deserves some attention.

Decided to throw down my .99 since there isn't much to get excited about this week and I haven't had a good, new TD game in a while.

While its certainly not the type of game that will "blow you away" (not that I think that was ever the intent), it certainly is a nice and fresher approach to the genre. A lot more strategy is involved than most TD titles, for sure. Creating the paths for the creeps while simultaneously deciding what resources to prioritize definitely adds a level of thought as opposed to mindlessly plopping down towers.

The collection system also introduces a neat mechanic of letting you actively effect the difficulty of each level as you play. You can be a resource hog, ignoring the skulls, and obliterate the enemies with upgrades, support towers and mines. Or you can take the hard route and go for the perfect score while increasing enemy difficulty and limiting your power. A very creative and deep way to cater to different play-styles and also encourage replay.

Well done. Definitely at the top of my favorite TD games at this point.

Hi guys, thanks for the awesome feedback!

It's really great (and relieving) to hear you recognise that the focus of this game is in the strategy. I really wanted to make TD game that was a bit different from all the other TD games out there. One where you feel like you have more freedom and control over everything that's happening and that you can play the way you want to play.

Thanks so much for trying the game!

Cheers,
Steve

Edit: Sorry, and just to confirm, there is no IAP. 99c gets you 5-10 hours of game
