This is pretty dang good.
I'd say this resembles Wind-up Knight (an absolutely fantastic game) more than Super Meat Boy (which I don't like).

The longer introductions you see in the video aren't there in every level, and the later stages have instant restarts.

After watchingthe video I have to admit this looks like one of the best Platformers I've seen on IOS... Let's hope that holds true

It's similar to how Polara and Wind-up Knight and Cheeseman work. Your character is always running and you can roll or jump to avoid the obstacles and/or collect stars.

Game Impressions

Competent, but a bit dull and doesn't really distinguish itself in any major way. Awfully pedantic with regard to what it tasks you with doing, when, and how. Any error promptly sends you back to the level's start. (But not as promptly as would have been ideal.) Frankly, after a few minutes I just could no longer be bothered.
