Bloo Kid - Retro Platformer ($0.99) +lite

A whopping 60 levels, was previously for Android. Thinking about taking the plunge here.

this is free on the Android market... but I've got a tablet, and it doesn't work on tablets...

Tried the lite. Not really a platformer like you may think. I thought it was a sidescroller (I should have read the description better), but each level is just the one screen and you just jump on the spawning blobs until they are all gone, then grab a star, end of level. Got bored a few levels into the lite. Definately not my cup of tea...

The game is such a waste of potential that it almost makes you cry. The graphics are good, the controls are pretty much spot on, the jumping feels good, and the framerate is excellent. Unfortunately, the gameplay is so hobbled that it't pretty much pointless. The levels are tiny -- the size of a single screenful of a standard scrolling platformer -- and seemingly randomly designed. Your only objective is to kill a set number of enemies by bouncing in their heads; when you are done, a single star drops somewhere on the level. You pick it up and move the next randomly designed level. Rinse and repeat.

Stay well away from this one.

yeah I ended up trying the lite as well... and you pretty much nailed it on the head.


got bored VERY quickly... there's nothing really new in it... the movement is kinda slow...

The controls are responsive, the jump is alright... the physics could use a little work, but they aren't bad enough to be deal-breaking...

It's just boring...


Needs some power-ups...

If it was a side-scroller, it would be a LOT better...

movement and physics could be worked on a bit...

it's by no means bad... but I'm still gonna skip buying it.

the graphics are great...

Yup, got the lite after seeing it and thought it would be something actually like a platformer. Instead, it's some game that involves jumping on enemies in different environments - would be lucky to be called a platformer. Sorry for posting about this one, skip it. Like now...
