This game has great controls, but i dont think this was designed to be played on the ipad. I played it on the ipad3 and the vstick radius is too huge, i cant move from one corner to the opposite corner of the screen without sliding my thumb farther than i should.

Having said that, the controls are great.

Graphics is fantastic, but it isnt retina. Another indicator this may have just been designed on the iphone because the edges just arent sharp looking, like small assets just blown up to be ipad compatible. I hope im wrong, but this needs some retina assets.

Gameplay-wise, it's fast, its furious, and it's HARD. Everything i like in an endless runner. Well, it's brutal, so it's not like I like a game to be that hardcore, but this one, i like.

The downside? I have saved earth once already, and i only got 500+ coins which isnt much. Maybe things will improve when i get to upgrade the coin gathering skills. And i just found out there's a 2x coin and 2x orb IAPs at $0.99 each. Both currencies can be acquired in-game. Coins are for upgrades and skins, Orbs for continues and some effect i havent had the chance of checking how they work yet.

I hope these improve the coin and orb gathering as im ready to purchase them, but i'll play a few games first before deciding if i need it.

Right now, the main flaw i can find is that it may be too hard to earn those coins. The second not-so-flaw flaw is that the game is brutal, but i kinda like it. Also, the v-stick is very accurate at what it does and is very responsive, but it needs to be smaller to be able to control Verticus easier with the thumb.

Once you get used to the controls, it gets better. But i'll try on the iphone, coz i think it'll be easier to control Verticus with a smaller stick radius.

That main IAP flaw worries me though. A brutal game like this should give out coins easier than what im getting it now.

I hope the devs give some input on this, and maybe an improvement.

Seems hard to see when the character is in the center of the screen... like it's just unfair when the mines show up.

I think I can easily pass on this one despite how awesome Stan Lee is. Maybe if the suit was translucent (I see that's a 25,000 upgrade) or something it could be cool but right now it just looks like another money trap runner.

EDIT:

Forgot to say thanks to Sanuku. Thanks dude!

Yeah... it's not an easy game to recommend right now. Just played a bit more and i got less and less coins and orbs. Too IAP pushy. I cant see coins and orb x2 IAPs helping much with the current gains.

Yep, my thoughts exactly on seeing the video.

That sucks. I don't like to see games go freemium after being paid, but sounds like this game may end up going down that path. With so many (even freemium games) being fairly generous, it's difficult to justify getting a hard-as-nails game that doesn't reward the player.
