Default RoboArena asynch RoboSport inspired play

Wanted to alert you to "watch this space" for my upcoming title RoboArena.

If anyone has played RoboSport (Maxis 1991) you'll know what it's about!

Sounds exciting... Async should be good.

I was hoping for something like Custom Robo Arena on the iOS, but this looks ok too. Looking forward to how it plays out.

Just letting you guys know Robo Arena is still under development. It was going to hit the store last month but we felt we needed to add more customisation features for the robots. Also it's in a queue behind another release (think Pigs in Trees similarities). But stay tuned, we'll update last this month!

Ok we are finally in submission! Game Center is used for matchmaking, invites and automatch!

A basic description of the game follows. Once we get the art sorted I'll post the screenshots.

Its a simultaneous turn based strategy game played with two players. Each player builds a team of robots, restricted by the number of points they cost for each type. There are 5 to choose from with varying abilities.

The programming phase then begins and each player instructs their robots what to do, where to go, where to look, when to scan for enemies and shoot. Terrain, cover and other obstacles need to be considered in planning.

When both players have submitted their turns, the action begins and the robots go to war! Once the 30 moves are over (equates to 15 seconds) a new programming phase begins.


Game concepts included: fog of war, line of sight, damage, hitpoints, terrain, position, scanning, stance and movement. All the tactical goodies!

Game center achievements and leaderboards to track progress.
