I can't see this product providing any protection at all the thin strips of plastic will break and the phone will break also in my opinion.

But how effective would this "case" be if the back and even the sides aren't covered? Might as well call it a frame. I got a slim case for my (yet-to-arrive) iPhone 5 for less than the price of this.

that's what im saying... naked is better imo... If I want a case I'll put a protective one on, otherwise it'll be naked

Sounds like a pretty cool idea, although I don't know about the strength of the pieces holding the two frames together. I guess it's something you can only experience by holding it in your hands.
