We're big believers in being generous with premium currency and then giving the player a tons of options to spend them on. That's the coolest thing I've seen when I watch test players, is the different strategies they have for saving and spending their gems.

Awesome to hear the food thing being addressed! It is a little hard leveling them up to a point that I can have them do decent timed jobs, especially when I sleep!

Glad to hear that you guys have the philosophy on premium currency. I also play Happy Street, and I used to play Tiny Tower, both games extremely generous with premium currency and they're actually the only freemium games that I've ever spent money, simply because I wanted to support the devs.

I have 5 dragons, with the 6th one coming. It froze about two or three times today. Not a crash like most other games, it just simply froze. If I exit and go back into the game, I'll be greeted with a black screen, and then a crash. The last time it froze I was selling an equipment, but it has frozen other times like when I'm sending a dragon to work. 2-3 crashes a day isn't game breaking, but I'm sure it's something you guys would want to get out of the way before an official release. I'm working with an iPhone 5 on iOS 6.0.1 if that helps.

Edit: Also, I'm not sure if it's intentional or not, but I'm able to feed dragons that are close to leveling up with 0 gems. I do like having that as an option, but a bug is a bug.

I nabbed this as well -
LOVE the artwork! I haven't gotten far enough for a proper review yet.
I'm stuck at the quest to get second dragon.
I hatched my second dragon, then it crashed, now the quest won't update.
It would also be great to be able to customize your "keeper" (the little girl that gives quests).
Really oddball and fresh game.
Barfing coins into a waterfall of rainbows?? Yes please!!

We're working on stability! I'm also looking at balancing trip lengths so that there is access to longer trips earlier, totally agree with having trips to do as you sleep feels good.

The feeding dragons for 0 gems is actually a bug... but we're thinking of making it a feature. I use it all the time too!

Any commonalities to when it freezes? I know we've had problems with it doing it when you deliver a visitor sometimes...

Looking into this! I got an email from someone that had the same problem and I think it completed the quest when they hatched their 5th dragon. Weird... Anyway, we're gonna fix the quest going forward, but if you keep hatching dragons it should eventually complete.

Well, since it was only the second dragon, I deleted the app and reinstalled.
This time i restarted before playing and it got past that point no problem.
Still having general freezing issues, and the occasional crash.
Really cool tho! Theres quite a lot to it!
I reccomend everyone who is a fan of tower sims to check this out, it is unique.

I love a developer who enjoys exploiting their own games. Haha.

And as for freezing, it hasn't really been consistent. If I were to pin it to something, it might be when I try to do more than one thing at a time, ie if an item comes out before a dragon starts working and then I open another menu to send another dragon to work, and while in that menu the item pops up. Sorry I can't be more specific. It hasn't happened to me today but I'll be on the look out for it.

Also, I was wondering how rare item drops work. Do the longer timed quest give you a stronger chance of receiving one? And does the colour of the dragon dictate chances of items? Or is everything just completely random? It's crazy to see that one of my dragon has almost 80 hearts, while most of the others are 20ish, with even two at 15!

Right now, all trips have the same chance for treasure. Though we have trips with the "Special Chance" that have a much higher chance of getting a specific treasure. We are toying around with making a higher chance for treasure on long trips. Or maybe just a higher chance of better/more rare treasures?

I think a higher chance and/or rarer treasure for longer jobs would be better. As it stands the easiest way to make money and treasures is to constantly do the 1 min jobs, so it'll be more of an incentive to do longer jobs if it yielded better rewards!

P.S. The update is live for anyone playing. The subtle changes sound promising. Yay for notifications! But my boat seems to be a lot slower. Balance changes?

What device are you on? There was actually a problem where the speed of the boat was tied to frame rate on the device. So it would be CRAWLING on the iPhone 4 and waaay too fast on the iPhone 5 with the same balance values.

Might do another balance pass on boats now that the bug is fixed though.

Also you should now be able to swap treasures from the hoard and have more options to swap! There's now a button to sort by Hoard in most of the treasure lists.
