Cato's Hike - A little Programmer's Oddyssey, universal for iOS :)

After a year of on again off again programming I finally released my
game to teach kids how to program. I think it is really neat and would
love it if you guys would give it a shot. It is pretty unique on iOS i
feel where there is nothing else out there for children to program

Please feel free to email any questions or suggestions!

Hope you guys like it!

Thanks guys!

Thanks so much for your words of encouragement

Does anyone have any ideas on how to get more promotion or reviews for the app? I've emailed everywhere and only AppAdvice was nice enough to write a review.

I really do want to get more notice. First update is already in review with Apple as an emergency fix to fix some bugs and add a really nice feature (you no longer ever lose your program when you hit restart, it is auto-saved... you can still name it but you no longer have to rewrite a program except in tutorials) and I have many more ideas to get the teaching aspect across more and will write a manual that parents or more advanced kids might read.

Thanks again and looking forward to your ideas for the game and suggestions on how to get noticed if any! It has dropped out of the top 300 Education apps which means a death sentence I believe.

Kids and Adults Programming Game Cato's Hike Updated to Version 1.3

Update 1.3 now includes a manual for the game, goto's and labels as well as many nice user-interface changes, new levels and more! There is so much to do! Please tell your friends that have kids or teens that may want to play something fun! Also, anyone that would like to review please let me know!

Cato's Hike is a game to teach kids and teens (and adults) basic coding and programming using a fun card-based interface. Not many games take the player out of the game and make them think about it abstractly up front rather than controlling the player directly which is why this is so special!

The puzzles are fun, teach logic and range from trivially easy to really hard. You can solve any level the straight-forward way or using actual programming techniques which makes it much more interesting for older kids, but younger kids will still get to have fun and learn something along the way.
