Blastpoints - $2.99 ---> $.99

On my iPhone, so if someone could do me the honor of posting a link. I know this game didn't get much attention here when it was first released (apparently an accidental release of a beta build).

But it was rereleased and has gotten some pretty good press reviews that I think are well-deserved. It's not a deep game like GoF 2, but a very fun space arena with a number of game types. Great for quick fixes of space combat.

Looks beautiful. So, is it action-oriented or a hybrid of some sort?

Yeah, looks pretty, but is it a galaxy on fire clone? Any good?

It is good and not at all a clone of GoF. This is pure action. No story. Just a variety of gameplay modes focused on dogfighting and it is really fun IMO. Decent amount of ship customization (also seems like they lowered the prices of some of the upgrades in tonight's update so they're quicker to obtain).

Each game you are presented with four game options - usually one easy difficulty, two medium and one hard. The arenas and game types - such as deathmatch, time survival, waves, etc. - as well as the game environments are mixed up so you get a chance to try everything no matter what difficulty.

It's really an arcade like space combat game - without all the trading and storyline of others. I honestly missed it until I read a 4/4 review on STP. Think it also got 4/5 on AppSpy.

I love these kind of games so I'm enjoying it. Nice to have a space shooter where you just dive right into the action.
