Question about App Store download codes

Hey guys, I've had this question for a long time, and through google searche I can never find a definitive answer so I'm just gonna ask it here.

When I use a download code (Like Starbucks pick of the week) does it register as a purchase on my apple ID, so I can use the code on my Iphone, and be able to download it through the App Store on my iPad? Or does it just count as a download, and the next time I restore my phone I will no longer have it, and will purchase it again?

It counts as a purchase. So you can download it on all of your devices.

It's on your apple ID. Now you can get it on all your ios devices.
Also, I believe it's called a "promo code".
