^I seriously hope they ditch their freemium paywalls and start making premium games.
Glu can create some games with real potential, but then killed by it's own IAP model. |

This is a great game with one huge caveat and that caveat's initials are IAP.
This is Glu's entry into the Battleheart genre, the mechanics are basically the same, you control up to four heroes, each with their own skills, attacks and defenses. There are seven available heroes/classes to choose from but you start out with three, the fighter, cleric and archer. The other four heroes have to be purchased, one is available for coins that can be earned in game, the other three are only available via gems that must be bought with real money or Tap Joy'd. The IAP in this game is, in my opinion, really pricey, the lowest tier is $4.99 for 100 gems which won't get you much in the game. The additional heroes alone cost 90, 125 and 250 to unlock which would cost you about $20 if you wanted to get them all. That doesn't include any of the high level weapons, armor, rings, trinkets etc...that can only be bought with gems. Glu seems to be stepping up their IAP costs as its not nearly this bad in their other more recent games. The game itself is a fun and enjoyable Battleheartesque affair, each hero only has three skills but they are varied and work well. There are quite a few loot drops, the game even drops some items that are gem only purchases in the store. So, overall opinion is that its a great game but the IAP really kills it. |

Yup... played too much of this, and hit a paywall where an enemy kills my healer and archer in 2 to 3 hits, and in this game, there isnt a way to grind to level up.

You can grind to level up, just go back to previous levels and play through. Leveling does increase your stats but it does get pretty difficult at times. Of course there is always the sweet sweet relief of IAP purchases!

How does this not support the 5th generation iPod touch either? Under the hood it's essentially a slightly beefed up iPhone 4S, and indistinguishable beyond the screen to the iPad mini.
If it runs on those things, it should run on the 5G touch. |

This game hits IAP wall in 5 minutes. I've played this before. It's elements are cool, but you'd need to put in the grind to get gear, and the extra characters require gems I believe.

This actually would look decent if it wasn't a freemium game...
