App description: Space. It's a really really big place. That's why it's annoying when you manage to find the asteroid fields.

As the captain of your spaceship, you have to safely pilot your ship through the seemingly never-ending bombardment of space-rocks. By tilting your phone from side to side, you can point the ship in the direction of your choosing to either dodge the oncoming asteroids or get in line to shoot them!

Although it's pretty easy to be a coward and hide in the corner, remember that you get extra points for each asteroid you shoot down! But be careful too, some asteroids can't be shot down and they may hit you before you even notice them!

The biggest thing though to be aware of is the aliens lurking nearby; every so often one will appear and try to shoot you down! Shoot back and take them down to gain more points and progress deeper into outer space.

By gaining more points, you can progress onto the leaderboards to become the ultimate spaceship captain!

Hello!

Im Ryan, an independent games developer from the UK and Im now releasing my first two games to the App Store, this is one of them!

Asterun is a challenging space-themed arcade game in which you pilot a spaceship through an endless asteroid field, dodging and shooting incoming asteroids whilst battling the UFOs which try to stop you in your path. By shooting asteroids and UFOs, and also flying for longer, you can gain points therefore becoming the ultimate spaceship captain on the leaderboards!

Asterun is designed with the Cocos2d-Spritebuilder game engine and is supported with un-obtrusive adverts on the menus; no initial purchases or in-app purchases are required to play this game!

Asterun is launching today, download at app2.it/asterun!

Id really appreciate some feedback, and if you like it do feel free to keep playing and share with your friends, follow the twitter account and like the facebook page!

Thank you for your time!
Ryan.

I'm already seeing people on Asterun! If you like it, feel free to drop me a tweet or leave a comment here! All feedback is highly appreciated!

I'm also watching the scoreboards, if you submit a score that's near mine I will challenge you!

Thanks for providing a free game. It works well in a flappy asteroid sort of way. I'm in 3rd place but doubt that will last long.
My initial reaction is why do I have to keep tapping screen to fire? That's just not done these days, and is giving me RSI thumb. The schmup/bullet hell etiquette in today's polite society is to provide auto-fire as standard, and I'll be grateful if you'll consider implementing this. Then I thought I'd like to see the usual upgrades for weapons plus shields, though that may take away from the character of Asterun and make it like everything else, so maybe not. Anyway I'll keep trying to improve my score until my thumb breaks.

@Stronsay Thanks for the feedback, I really appreciate it!

Well, if you get nearer to 1st place I'll have to take action upon that; you've been warned! You have an excellent point about tapping to fire, I can't believe I didn't consider that before I sent it off. Auto fire been added onto the list for the next update, thank you

I think I may avoid going towards upgrades etc., perhaps keep it more so everyone is on the same playing field; I may add colour customisation if that's something that's asked for, along with a few other ideas I've got stored up.

I'll try to push out an update to Asterun (and also Fruit Flight) nearer the end of the month, so I can gather a few more ideas first.

Again, thanks for the feedback!

Good morning everyone!

I've finally got some stats for yesterday, it definitely went better than I first thought! I'm also seeing a few people get closer to the top on the leaderboards, so it seems like I'm going to have to go and gain some points!

Have a good day everyone, as per normal feel free to leave feedback here or on my Twitter page!

Hello everyone!

I've released a new update for Asterun - feel free to check it out here: app2.it/asterun!

Although in this version I haven't focused on new features, I have fixed a few minor issues and made it run even more smoothly than before! It's definitely worth a look if you've got some time free and want to try something new! The features that have been suggested will be going into the next update!

If you keep an eye out on my website, Twitter or Facebook you'll hear some very big news about both Fruit Flight and Asterun really soon; along with some new projects that I'll be announcing!

Thanks for your time!
Ryan.
