EDIT: I'm actually more concerned with the lack of iPhone 5 screen support on some 'screens', like main menu. The game has added graphics to fill up the black bars, but on some screens, it is not supported (yet?). Minor issue if you ask me. I played more with an iPhone and so far no problems. Will try later with the iPad.

Well, as far as I remember the black bars filled up in game session. But for menu its very difficult to add something for this kind of resolution.

Maybe a little too simple for me, everything is done nicely but I'm not sure I'd keep returning. But for people that are mad about this style of game it would no doubt fit the bill.

I played the web version during development and really enjoyed it. I downloaded the free version to see how the final turned out before buying, and I'm sorely disappointed in one decision - the ads. These were obviously thrown in at the last minute. The UI is not set up to allow space for the ads, so they end up overlapping critical UI elements (like you can't see or press the bottom row of items!). Really poor development choice! I realize the full version wouldn't have the ads, but out of principle, I'm hesitant to support a fellow developer who makes decisions like these.

[update] this issue with the ads is only on the iPad. I tried on my iPhone, and instead, the UI is weird on top and bottom. On the bottom, the ad looks like its way off center so I only see part of it. At the top, there's a space above the top game border, and then there's another border - almost as if the bottom border is drawn at the top of the window because the ad pushed it down, and it wrapped around to the top of the window. Odd but at least it doesn't get in the way of gameplay.
