But is Final Fantasy ATB fun to play?

It's not classic Final Fantasy but depending on IAP model I could potentially appreciate an action arcade varient. It's a lazy/efficient idea just to throw existing art assets into a simple arcade style engine and see how it does.

Initial price isn't too bad, after Demon's Score and Theaterythm, not pulling the trigger until reviews and IAP are out.

Are the unlockable characters only for purchase by iap or is there an in-game currency that you can purchase them though as well? If the only way to fufill the character list of players is by iap then I'll pass. Square is an expensive adventure always to unfold.

What bullcrap is this. Taking away the one thing that makes me love the Final Fantasy games - an epic, immersive and emotional story. Leave the battles, throw IAP in.
It's screams cheap cash cow in every single screen. Waiting for the next Chaos Rings to get my 2013 Final Fantasy iOS fix. |

PS: Just to clarify, I am not saying this game is shit. I'm just trying to articulate my point. |

This looks like it's developed for the first Gameboy Color and smells like fan rip-off.
Just an initial impression, haven't played it yet. Stick to your roots, Squeenix. Decent games for a decent price. |

Sounds like FF fan service. Also looks like it's an adapted mobile (Japanese semi-smartphone) game.

You mean like Demon's Score... or the Final Fantasy Rhythme game? Welcome to Square Enix circa 2013. |

...I'm just waiting for a Final Fantasy match-3 to come out now that they've hit tower defense, social media, and now tap sim.
