I have just bought this because it looks like a great indy game. Did you guys
use cocos2D for this? It looks like a lot of play value for .99c

this is a great little game! i find myself drawn into this little world, but there are a few things i'd like to see to make this game more approachable for all types of gamers, and a lot more fun!

- i would like multiple classes, chat you can interchange for when you need it - like having a sword, then between battles, reach for a bow or staff

- money: the one thing i found difficult early on is that i woudnt be able to save money, cause as soon as i was out of spells (cause i just ran out into the world and battled monsters for money (cause i need diamond for a light source) i found that i needed to recharge my magic spells before i could make the 20 gold for the ability or item to get diamonds

apart from those two small things (well the whole money loop im in is a little frustrating, but im working through) its a great retro RPG!

*edit* i do have to admit i have not gone a great deal into the game, so i dont know what i have in store for me and that i may end up finding solutions to my suggestions

As an alternative view, I actually thought the "money loop" was great. For once a game actually starts off with a real challenge and tasks you with making decisions and having a plan. Rather old school, sure, but I think that's the point here, and I found it rather refreshing after the multitude of more modern RPGs that lead you around by the nose at the start and hand you precisely what you're "supposed" to have at predetermined intervals.

Agree with your other sentiments though.
