The iPad is higher-graphics designed, and the non-HD version says it's lower quality graphics but a universal build.

We thought about it too, but we wonder if it won't be too messy for customers to choose the correct version... We'll think about it, maybe use this approach with the next updates

What is the difference in the versions if the iphone version is universal? I got the universal version,so is the hd version ipad retina? Is that the main difference?

Yes, the main differences are in graphics (let's say textures) quality and iPad 3 retina display support. HD version is worth to try if you have iPad 2 or iPad 3.

The developer will answer, I'm sure, but on their Facebook page they say, "you'll be able to buy the universal app with the lower visual quality on iPads and special HD vesion with the full retina support and high visual quality".
