Certainly there's nothing wrong with it, and it does look like a solid title, there's just nothing to set it apart from other 1942-styled shmups.

After being thoroughly disappointed with Sela The Space Pirate, I decided to buy this one.
It really isn't bad at all. The game is pretty easy initially, but the difficulty does increase. I've only completed the first mission set, it wasn't hard, but it was pretty fun, and for the price, it's very good indeed. I've played much worse 194x Shmups on my iPad. One thing it desperately need though, is relative touch. I really hate it that the plane is sitting right in front of my finger at all times! There's an upgrade system, you can pay with medals collected in game. I have bought a few, and so far haven't felt pushed to buy anything with real money, though the option is there. To unlock new missions you also need to pay, and for me, because I spend on upgrading my plane, I have to replay a mission or two to unlock the next stages. It'll be interesting to see whether I'll be pushed to pay with real money down the line to continue playing. Edit: I forgot to mention the way the game displays damage to your ship by giving the illusion that your screen is cracking up and getting riddled with bullet holes, obscuring your vision. I actually think that's a very nice touch, and much better than the usual red bar in most other Shmups. Last edited by Bytebrain; 02-14-2013 at 06:29 AM.. |

It's a fun, entertaining game for the price.. The only problem I have with it is, after every mission restarts you must get all of your power ups, weapons over again.. A bit annoying, other than this, great game to pass the time..

This game just gets better and better.
The second mission set "The Panzer Menace" ramps up the difficulty nicely, and there's quite a variety in what's required of the player, as the game introduce ground targets, Boss fights and at some stages fills the screen to the brim with enemies. I heartily recommend this game, and recommend anyone buying it to stick with it, even when it seems easy in the beginning. |
