DropSum

Hi,

Just released in the App Store is DropSum.

Enjoyed by over 7.5 million PC users worldwide, Dropsum will stretch your mental agility and give your brain a good work out.

In DropSum you drop numbered balls into a grid. The aim is to make a line of these balls add up to 9, either horizontally or vertically. When you make nine you score some points and all the balls involved change color. They start out grey and advance to blue, yellow and then red. Once a red ball has been used to make a sum of nine it will explode and allow any balls above it to fill the gap. The falling numbers then have the potential to form scoring combinations with their new neighbors, which may burst other balls, and so on. Setting up large combos like this is the way to score serious points. The game ends when the whole grid is filled.

Destroy special octagon tiles and you'll release a special star. These stars are gathered up after a short while. The more stars gathered, the higher the bonus you'll receive.

DropSum becomes very addictive and will improve your basic maths skills the more you play it.

It's great for both kids and adults and will help speed up your mental maths agility.

Trophy page to show what you have acheived

Classic game style. Numbers start off grey and turn blue, yellow, red and then explode. They change whenever you use the with other numbers to create a sum of 9.

Drop a 1 between the red 5 and red 2 in the third column and those three numbers (1,5 and 2) will explode. Numbers above them will then fall down and maybe make more sums of 9.

Techno Theme.

You can also listen to you iTunes music while you play.

Results screen. Here I didn't score too well.

In this game I scored highly.

A lite version will be released in about two weeks time, so you will be able to try before you buy.

Looks interesting. Is it similar to Drop7 which is one of my fave apps?

Also, does it have a global leaderboard like Drop7, if not I won't be getting it. What makes me play Drop7 everyday still 5-6 months on is the online leaderboard.

Still, I'll give the lite version a bash when it's out, you never know.

Are there plans to support the Arcade and Timed modes in the near future?

I'm very impressed with this game.

It has awesome graphics, animations, subtle sounds, good music along with a great interface. It feels right.

The gameplay is interesting. The fact that a nine combination does not disappear immediately makes the game more challenge in a very good way. In addition, tiles preview and the timeless pace makes the game a casual and stressless puzzle.

However, it needs a better high score table approach. There's only games played (it shows 2 but I'm still playing the first one) and the best score. It needs a better local high score system and an online board (what game doesn't nowadays?).
