Default Dungeon Defenders II (By Trendy Entertainement)

Low bandwidth Version | Pop Up

Quote:
Dungeon Defenders II is the sequel to our popular tower-defense role-playing game, Dungeon Defenders. Unlike it’s predecessor, Dungeon Defenders II features a cooperative and competitive mode. Heroes, cosmetic items, pets, and more will transfer across both modes.

The cooperative mode is the true sequel to Dungeon Defenders. Expect more heroes, more towers and even more loot. New features like an expanded story and a 24-player overworld are also in the works.

The competitive mode is a Multiplayer Online Battle Arena set in the Dungeon Defenders universe. Together, 5 players will take up arms to defend their towers against the opposing team. This fast-paced, streamlined MOBA aims for a shorter learning curve and more rpg-esque take on the genre.

Dungeon Defenders II is currently in development for PC, Mac, iOS, Android, & Web. Dungeon Defenders II will completely be free-to-play.

Let the freemium ranting begin!

@killercow: Yes. Better yet, ditch UE3 and use a more efficient engine.

Looks great,They said it's not "pay to win" but I guess we'll have to wait to see.

The only thing I remember about the original iOS game was that it became more and more broken with every update. The PC version was fun though.

Could still be "pay to play" period though...

It seems like this game is using the same free-to-play model as League of Legends uses. A few choice questions from the FAQ section:

Quote:
How much will Dungeon Defenders II cost?
Dungeon Defenders II will completely be free-to-play. Our goal is to provide the same amount of content at around the same price as the original game. Heroes and cosmetics, not stat boosting items, will be for sale. Of course, at all times there will be a rotating roster of free heroes to play from and a variety of other content to purchase as well.

Will heroes in Dungeon Defenders II be free?
No, however there will always be a rotating selection of free heroes to choose from. Once you purchase a hero you will unlock them for play in both the cooperative and competitive modes.

How will purchasing in-game heroes/items work?
At the current stage of development, there is a single in-game currency that you can earn or purchase to buy items and heroes in game.

Is the game pay-to-win?
Of course not! As of this moment in development, everything sold in the game is obtainable through play. Furthermore, all stat giving items are awarded only through play, not pay. Like many other games in the genre though, you will be able to purchase boosts that will let you level faster or find better cosmetics.
I'm in.
