Guns N' Zombies is a survival shooter with a clever twist; you have to manually pull the trigger of the gun to fire and reload it when you run out of bullets in the magazine. This makes it more of a mix of Zombieville and one of those billions of gun apps out there. I think that the two work well together and with the recent 1.1 update the guns are a lot more responsive. The video below shows the basic mechanics of the game play.

Guns N' Zombies only has one mode with no difficulty levels so there isn't much depth but don't let that put you off too much. The actual game itself is pretty fun. Your character stays in the same place the whole time so you can't run away, this means that the game is more about reloading your gun quickly, knowing at which point to shoot the zombies (since the closer they are the less bullets they take to kill) and when to buy each gun. For each zombie you kill you get some money which you can buy guns and ammo with. You can access the gun store at any time and there is quite a large amount of guns to buy (2 pistols, 2 shotguns, 2 SMGs, 2 M16s and a bolt action rifle), with more being added in updates. You keep playing until you die; where you will then be given the amount of time you played for, which you can submit to online highscore boards. The game also saves your best time.
The controls are pretty easy to use, very responsive and are innovative. Instead of pressing a button to fire you pull back the trigger manually. You also have to manually push the magazine in and reload the gun. This means that you have to be pretty quick with your fingers to be good at this game. To start with it's pretty hard to know exactly what to do, but the game shows you with arrows where you have to slide to pull the trigger or pull back the pin, so after a while you get used to them.
The graphics of Guns N' Zombies are what I think let it down. The graphics for the guns look really good and are perfect for this game but the other graphics aren't so good. The zombies look like frogs, in fact I swear Kermit and one of these zombies look exactly the same:
The background also looks washed out and the character needs more style. The interface design also isn't the best (the health bar just looks bad). If the background, character and interface graphics were as good as the guns and the icon they would be one of the strongest points of the game.
The SFX and music are pretty good and work well with the game. I'm not 100% sure about the music since it seems a little upbeat but the SFX are really good and are accurate (as far as I know) to the guns.
As I said before Guns N' Zombies doesn't have that much depth so difficulty levels would be good and more different types of zombies (there are two at the moment, I think). I'd also like to see some different environments added to the game as unlockable levels. Another thing that I think should be changed is the in game online leaderboard it should show the top 100 scores instead of just the top 9 and the local leaderboard should show my top 10 scores instead of just my best. More guns and weapons would also be really good in this game. Things like a flame thrower, a rocket launcher, a revolver, grenades and even a chainsaw.
Overall Guns N' Zombies is a unique survival shooter game that is fun but lacks some depth. The graphics aren't the best but anyone who enjoys Zombieville and likes to mess around with those gun simulator apps will really enjoy this game. The developer says that there will be a lot more updates coming to improve the game but at the moment this is a 3.5/5.
