Concerning Zenonia..

For people who've played a lot of 16bit/whatever RPGs like Zenonia, would you consider it to still be a good RPG even compared to the games on other platforms? Or is it only regarded so highly as it's the best the iPhone has to offer, and would be considered an average game on say, the DS?

Purely my opinion of course, but it doesn't compare to any of the classic 16 bit RPGs or the many great RPG's the DS currently has.

It is however the best RPG the iPhone has, but I'd have to agree that it would only be an average RPG if released on the DS.

I reckon Zenonia could hold its own against RPG's from other platforms (having a similar Japanese 16-bit "retro style" that is). It's not a DS or PSP-killer, but I gotta admit that I did enjoy it a lot more than some PSP RPG's that I have. It's just kinda short of quests and stuff to do, at least for me. Hopefully the devs will find it in their hearts to add a few more quests and perhaps more maps (which I know is asking a lot, but other games managed to pull it off). I really like the game, but i just feel that it's not quite there yet. The story didn't really impress me that much, but good enough. Great RPG's need great stories to tell, imho.

Zenonia was amazing, but when it ends, it ends. There should be DLC or an expansion for the fans, because as of now, it seems no other RPG is going to touch Zenonia.

I agree zenonia is great and all but it's no chrono trigger.

My friend said to me, "I think the weather's trippy." I said, "No, man, it's not the weather that's trippy, perhaps it is the way that we perceive it that is indeed trippy." Then I thought, "Man, I should've just said, 'Yeah."CS.one R3DC3ll Faction-Join us or die...proud member of TheBeastlyNinja Epic-uber elite comedy crew

Zenonia was good when I played the lite version. I'm sure the full is in depth and great, but I'm not completely interested. To be honest, my favorite RPG is Galaxy On Fire. I might be the only one who thinks that; GOF may not be chopped full of deep RPG story, but I'd rather be the bad ass flying assassin with a cool spaceship than the 15 year old kid with a hand weapon.

Although I hope for more of an multiple character action fighter RPG like Tales of Symphonia or Star Ocean, I think that Zenonia is a good RPG for the iPod Touch. In answer to your question, I think it's more like a GBA game, but not really at level with other hand held RPGs these days. This game looks similar to the GBA pokemon games like LeafGreen and FireRed, and the gameplay is similar to Legacy of Goku for the same system. One thing that makes it more advanced than those of the GBA is the alternate story based on your choices. I'm not sure if that feature was in a GBA RPG.

Recent purchases: Pac man CE, Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2, Mecho Wars, and Chaos Rings.
Upcoming Games I plan to get: Splinter Cell, GoF2
