Like you could buy those with money from matches. Things like that would add so much replayability

Buttons on the side would be great. Apart from tapping the s*** out of my Iphone..and still losing..I didn't get any reward from playing it. I eventually found out what to do but as previous members said having a "combo" appear above the robot and not knowing what to do..?..for me it seriously detracts enjoying playing the game, and this game looks real good and has the potential to be a winner.

Upgrading the robots seems to be a common and popular idea (stronger punches..weapons..powers(slomo punches/speed punches/fire strikes/oil spills so the other robot misses)

Another member says different buttons for different punches...sounds good. A low button for low punches. A middle button for uppercuts..etc

How about an option for first person view..?

Just suggestions guy.

In summary for me there were two main gripes :
Not having a dedicated button smasher on the screen.
Poor instructions.

Lastly its really impressive that the developers have asked for criticism from us...and are taking all our comments on board..Well Done guys..!!!

i like the simplicity of tap anywhere and there's not multiple buttons making you press multiple sequences for an in game combo punch

but having combo/special attacks/special weapon attacks that you earn that have a cooldown and appear as static buttons when they can be used would be good

we could have a "repair shop" feature where we can store earned upgrades and can customize our robot for a fight

The thing I hate most about this game is that the developers felt it necessary to post customer-esque 5 star reviews in iTunes. Not only that, but they also claimed they were 'joke' reviews to mock other developers and said that they would be edited, and they weren't. Shilling is a big no-no in the AppStore industry. Your game should be good enough to sell itself, or not be sold at all.

Its a fun little game but.....The game isnt really a game people would like. All you do is touch the screeen over and over again. Maybe some different types of punches or kicks? NOW...i only played for like 2 mins. So i dont really know a lot about this game.

Yeah.. Thanks for reminding us of that. but really, I was asking about the game itself, not what we did.

maybe you should add a help screen with some of the combo patterns, so players can see there are already special punches available

...you just have to activate them with specific patterns of right and left taps

One of the most requested feature that I'm seeing from this thread was just more ways to beat each other up and we actually planned for weapons/armors at the beginning when we started developing smackBOTS but just haven't make that public. Our creative director, Derek, just started a new thread on upcoming showing concepts of artwork that we're working on now. So check it out:

http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=19602

Here's some things that we're working on and the plan is to push updates every 2 weeks.

1) Multi-player
smackBOTS started off as a multi-player game and halfway through development, we just thought to ourselves, why not release early and threw up the single player version just to get initial impressions from gamers. With multi-player, you can to fight a real human..err.. using a robot.. but yeah..that will make smackBOTS more challenging. We're making good progress with multi-player and have just gotten 2 player mode to work over 3G. It's looking very cool that 2 player fights over 3G is going to be coming to live.

@sportsfan791 not sure what's your idea with bluetooth, but we'll have 3G support for a start.

2) System for weapons and Armor - @Devilishly Good
We're designing an entire range of non-melee weapons plus armors that you can get your hands on. There's definitely money involved like most of the comments are suggesting. You fight to earn cash and buy stuff with those cash. But everyone starts of with bare hands.

@NYKane, @sizzlakalonji, @IpodLady with weapons and armors, there will be strategy involved to win.

3) Tutorial Level
After talking to many users, we realized that most users skip over the tutorial screen and then stumbles with the controls of the game. grathina2000 was spot on, the instructions were bad. We'll have a tutorial stage that will guide you through all the controls as well as teach you the combo move. So learn combo move one and figure out ultra combo yourself. How's that?

4) Accelerameter - @IpodLady
We added the ability to move your robots since we started developing weapons/etc and needed a way for you to move the robots back and forth easily. There's a dead zone angle where your robots will not move, so it requires you to tilt the device more towards each side(I'm thinking that the insensitivity that a few of you are experiencing). Reducing the tile angle makes it more "sensitive" so you don't have to tilt a lot to move in either direction but makes it harder if you just want to stay still. Also the speed for moving forward remains the same, but moving backwards is twice as fast as moving forward. The angle of tile does not increase the speed either way. We'll experiment with adjusting these parameters and see how that works with weapons incorporated.

@IpodLady, Adding some kind of system where you can "move up thru the ranks" the more you win.
We're finalizing details for a system where it's make multi-player more fun, kinda like what you were suggesting.. where the goal is to move up the ranks and be in that coveted position.

@Diggins We're considering more combo moves but that's lower priority than making weapons work now. Looks like your back on the top for wwsc, also hoping to see smackChallenge get approved by Apple soon.

@aricall We're redoing the audio, and definitely will add sound effects for various actions.
