Haha, I know it's a infamous question but I don't have much experience with RPG's, so I don't know what's good. I also wanted to know if this would be a good place to start for a RPG beginner.

Sadly, most Kemco RPG sale threads are usually just like this: people asking if specific games are good, and no one with any experience posting their thoughts. I've been on the fence a long time waiting for TA user impressions, too.

This is the first iOS Kemco release that was Universal iirc. It's a good menu-based RPG similar the classic FF titles, and is well worth the buck you'll spend on it, since it's on sale. There's nothing genre-defining about the game, but it has a well laid out story, good character development system, and a bit of exploration and adventure. These things make a good game when done right, and Kemco's RPGs are usually on the right side of things in this regard.

Exact-Psience My 2014 Top 10 Games of the Year: Monster Hunter Freedom Unite, Hearthstone, VVVVVV, Battleheart Legacy, Wayward Souls, Bug Heroes 2, Powerpuff Girls Defenders of Townsville, Deep Loot, Monument Valley, Bioshock Honorable Mentions: Traps N Gemstones, Bardbarian, Goblin Sword

Thanks for the impressions, E-P. Looks like I'll climb off my fence at long last.

Agreed. I bought it at the last sale and while I think it's a tad more simplistic than a lot of RPGs it has a good plot and is holding my attention. I'm not convinced its worth full price but its a steal at .99. Though I must admit its starting to feel a bit Grindy now, while the standard monsters are easily beaten the regular boss battles are getting more and more tricky (currently at the looking for engine parts in the slums)
