You are a Valkyrie, and you have one job: To take the souls of fallen warriors to their final resting place in the hall of Valhalla.

Its not easy. If it were easy anyone could do it. But not anyone can be a Valkyrie.

Do you have what it takes?

This first-person runner is not for the faint-of-heart or the slow of reflex. You have to jump, you have to slide across light bridges and deactivate wallsall while running and collecting souls. You may want to keep both thumbs close to the screen at all times.

Valkyrie puts you right in the action with:

Definitely interested in your impressions. It does look good, but I'm otherwise unsure.

Now that you mention it, it does seem like a first person runner seeing the hand on some of the screenshots.

Too early to TOFTT on everything right now, so imma wait for Gabrien's imps. Already TOFTT'd Eternal Descent for $3 and bought Sine Mora for $6, and it's not even wednesday/thursday yet. I'll cheap-out til thursday for now

Game Impressions

Mixed feelings about this, but worth mentioning at the outset it's not really my type of game. First person runner. Think Mirror's Edge. You jump (flick up), slide (guess), and tap to switch bridges that frequently connect longer stretches of platform on and off. Gameplay is smooth and atmospheric if a little dull. Main problem for me, is that often things come at you with insufficient time (or visual clues) to react. Yes, you would probably get better as you play, but at best this doesn't seem very beginner-friendly. Occasionally the game read my input as "flick" when I intended "tap", making me feel the flick sensitivity should be toned down a tad. Once, I fell off a platform and instead of game over my character remained airborne with the clock still ticking up. Unfortunately my plans of achieving unassailable world scoreboard domination by walking away from my iPhone for a few minutes proved fruitless as the game didn't save my score when I quit back to the main menu. Speaking of which, this uses something called Heyzap for scoreboards, which I have never heard of and which seems an odd thing to do.

Doubt this will stay on my phone for long, but someone more attuned to the genre might get more out of it.

Yeah, my impressions are much like Gabriens. I dunno, it's not a bad game, but I can't say I'll stick with it for too long. It seriously makes me look like I have no reflexes. For how beautiful and calming the music is, the gameplay is nerve-wracking and I already don't have the patience to go through the levels if the 3rd one's making me lose my marbles.

are the controls really unbearable? Im one of those few ppl who dont complain about controls that many do complain about..
