Yes!!! Finally LucasArts realizes that they are sitting on top of a gold mine of intellectual property that they have been doing almost nothing with for way too long! Maybe they can finally climb back after being a nothing-but-Star-Wars company for so long.

Review for The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition

It's the original Monkey Island -- but better in every way.

It has full voice acting, using the actors from the previous Monkey Island PC game which featured voices. All the artwork is redrawn to give the game a 3D look and feel and all the music is re-composed.

You can switch between the original Monkey Island 256-color VGA version and the Special Edition version seamlessly by swiping two fingers across the screen. You pause by tilting the iPhone upright, and you can zoom in and out using the standard two-finger pinch.

None of the puzzles or gameplay has changed, since the Special Edition is built upon the original SCRUMM code. They did add in a new 3-tier hint system which starts off vague, but slowly becomes exact and will tell you exactly what to do AS WELL as where to go to do it. Just shake the iPhone to display a hint on-screen.

You'll get at least 8 hours worth of gameplay if you breeze through all the puzzles and use the hint system liberally. But if you're like most people, expect to be playing for a good 20+ hours.

Adventure games only did as well as they did because of forerunner games like Monkey Island.

BUY THIS GAME. You will not regret it and if you don't like the game for some reason, I will personally PayPal you $8. I'm that confident.
