App description: Whacking stuff sure gives you an appetite!
Discover the new REVIVAL version of this great classic!

Prehistorik is a game that was first released in the 90s on the Amiga, Atari ST, Amstrad CPC and DOS and still remains one of the world's benchmarks in platform gaming.
In this version, everything has been totally revised, which equals more fun for players!

The story:
A giant has stolen all the grub from the Grag tribe!
You play the role of Grag and set off on this monsters trail in search of food!
Super friendly Grag is helped along the way by his new friend, the fly!
Help this friendly prehistoric hero defeat his monstrous enemies and bring back some loot to the village!

THE ADVENTURES OF GRAG
Pick up all the food!
Battle the bosses - They're funny alright... but dangerous too
Travel through the different worlds, each one crazier than the next.
Try out your boarding skills with a pigsurf (pig + snow + fun = pigsurfing).
Have a go on a jetpack in the mountains.

FEATURES
- Bonus Levels to unlock (jumping over giant muffins sounds pretty cool, right?)
- Find the statuettes and unlock hidden backgrounds.
- Huge levels spread across 3 Worlds
- Loads and loads of monsters to whack!
- Mega Final Bosses

P.S: No animals were harmed in the making of this game.

I'm not really sure what's going on with the Prehistorik franchise, with Prehistorik Man (by Interplay) being recently released and subsequently (apparently) pulled and then this just showing up out of nowhere, but whatever the case...more old-school platforming is always welcome and this looks to be a fantastic remake.

EDIT: This is just amazing. Check out my impressions of Prehistorik Man for pretty much the same way I feel here. Huge non-linear levels, crisp retina graphics, tons of exploring and collecting, I personally love the humor and it just feels like Prehistorik/Prehistorik Man brought forward for a new generation. For anyone who's sick to death of bite-sized twitch platformers and wants some...pun intended...meat on their bones, you HAVE to get this. It's an old-school, full sized platformer through and through. My only complaint is the jumping needs a liiiiiitle bit of getting used to, but in the greater scope of things...I couldn't care less when everything else is so stellar.

I jumped on Prehistorik Man when it landed, too. Is this worth getting in addition to that? I'm guessing yes, but..?

Don't ask me why, but I liked this so much that I actually deleted Prehistorik Man.

I think i'm gonna skip your posts, it's too bad for my wallet.

I always say that, and after i read you again, and again...

It looks so great, but i still hesitate between this and riptide 2. They are completely different, but i've spent too much this week to take both.

Thank you anyway!

Sorry for my bad english.

Haha, my pleasure.

The longer you're around TA, the longer you realize that certain people's posts are impossible to ignore. I don't remember the last time I saved any money reading posts by CygnetSeven, Andy C83, syntheticvoid or TheFrost, for example. Now it's all a matter of buying and recommending something before they do.

When you do have the money, I do suggest picking up both.

Unrelated: I should note that PREHISTORIK has absolutely no IAPs.

I can't say myself, as I just bought it. Maybe MC knows? I know one thing: improved graphics aside, it had better have plenty of them, given that this one is over 20x larger.

Prehistorik Man is sadly no longer available in the US App Store, as has been noted elsewhere.

I've spent the last 2 and a half hours trying to complete the first 2 levels to 100% (missed a single damn piece of food on the second!) and the game's just so easy to fall in love with. Definitely a visual upgrade, but it still feels like an Amiga game at heart. I'm not gonna lie and tell you that the controls are perfect. You'll definitely fight with the controls during some precise platforming bits and pieces, but the game's very forgiving when it comes to restoring hearts and you're given plenty of lives. Can't recommend this enough. I hope the controls are tightened just a little bit, but in its current state, the game is still one of the best platformers on iOS.
