Let me try this one more time...
Centipede:
Is that the only way to fire? with the buttons on the top of the screen? Isn't that hard to move and shoot with one hand on top & one on bottom?

Yes. Either automatic shooting, or shooting with the buttons.
Try emailing Atari or Gryptonite games and see if you could offer them suggestions

I thought this game just had auto shooting?
Doesn't seem like a problem. There is no reason not to always be shooting. Why would you want to tap?

in some parts earwigs(which replaced the scorpion) and inchworms appear on the screen. They are small and you need to hit them if you want a high score. Auto shooting makes it much tougher to time your shots and hit a bug as both of them move horizontally across the screen.

You're definitely one of the rare few who've never played Centipede. It's definitely a great game.
I still have my fingers crossed for Galaga or Galaxian

Does Atari own the rights to those games? If so, you can expect to see them
