Does anyone else use Airplane mode as a quick way to turn the radio off for meetings and such? Also to conserve battery power, and maybe even to just not have any calls/texts coming through!

Yup, what would be awesome is if you could turn off calls and still browse safari, appstore etc...

It's easy to do if you Jailbreak your iphone.
in cydia you can grab SBSetttings Whenever you want you can swipe on the status bar and it pulls down a window. from there you can change Screen Brightness (I use this a lot to optimize brightness while in a game) Edge (I don't have a data plan so I keep it off) Phone (Turning this off puts you in airplane mode) Wifi (with this on i can keep my internet connection while in airplane mode) You also have a button for a 2nd dock for more apps. One app I keep in there is Amazon since it has my credit card info. With it in the 2nd dock it doesn't appear on the springboard at all. hope that helps! |

I also use it if i'm letting people play with my iPhone and I don't want them to be interrupted by a text message or a call coming through...

I agree. Sometimes I want to turn off calls when I'm working, but that would mean I couldn't use Pandora. It's just not worth it.
