Tank Invaders: War Against Terror

Hello Touch Arcade,

I'd like to show you mgaia's upcoming mobile war game, Tank Invaders. It's a bomber game inspired by old-school arcade shooters and somewhat by tower defenses and 80's action movies.

The maniac villain Terror has readied his forces for war and is unstoppably attacking General Rogers's base! To counter that, the general has summoned you to control the missile-teleporting system DEFENSE and destroy that madman's war machines!

* Universal App - includes support for iPad High Res and Iphone 5

Here's our teaser trailer:

And, for those who want to take a deeper look at the mechanics and how the player interacts with the game, here's a recorded gameplay session:

Some highlights:
  • Launch missiles against various types of vehicles - ground and air
  • Face huge boss encounters in different scenarios to test your endurance and agility
  • Collect different types of power-ups to modify your missiles
  • Fuel the awesome OnFire weapon and rain an unstoppable stream os missiles over Terror's pawns
  • Bombard your enemies with special magnetic and nuclear bombs
  • Level-up and unlock new weapons, gadgets and enemies
  • Upgrade all your weaponry and become a master of war
  • Enjoy Rogers's and Terror's voice-overs as they join the battle
  • Leave your mark on the top of the Gamecenter leaderboards
  • Complete dozens of missions and achievements

A couple of screenshots from the boss fights:

Fanatic in the canyon, shielded and then ready to attack:

Terror in the deforested woods, and The Machinist in the ruins:

And the main characters:

General Rogers and Terror

Yes, it is! I'm sorry, I forgot to mention it and there's no way to edit the subject.

Yeah, that seems an interesting way to describe the experience hehe

One of our ideas to 'explain' the gameplay was that you were controlling a massive battleship, launching missiles down on the battlefield. In the end we stuck with the teleportation idea for we thought the movement was too slow to justify a war aircraft.

Oh yeah, Missile Command and Space Invaders are definitely our greatest golden-days sources of inspiration for this game!
