Nice. I wanted to try this out but the 5.99$ was a little high for me.

I gave some thought to picking this one up after seeing this thread, but after reading one of the reviews on the App Store saying that you need a Facebook account to even save your game, I decided to pass. I hope this trend to require FB in some games is not be a future trend.

This is not true. FB is required for leaderboards but not game saves.

Highly recommend this game. Although there was a lot of debates in the main thread, especially regarding the original controls (that have since been updated to include a relative touch option, I consider this to be one of the best shmups on the App Store.

Someone explained in the game thread that saves do work differently with fb, but it still isn't clear to me exactly how. I'll see if I can dig up the post...

Edit: well I can't find it with a quick search and I'm not skimming that whole mess of a thread, so never mind I guess. Someone said it was different but it was confusing and I have no idea if it was accurate. Anyway, I would definitely recommend the game. Controls are decent, visuals are excellent.

The review that I read was at the very top on the App Store. My interests are simply single player, and I am not into the leaderboard thing. I don't have a FB account at the present time.

I'm in the same boat...not into multiplayer or fb.

This game is great... My only complaint is the letterbox display. Get it

There's a message when you first start the game that makes it sound like FB is required for saves and maybe, as Royce says, it works differently. But I never logged into FB and had no problems at all with the game saving. So think you'd be good to go if you don't care about leaderboards.

Thanks, everyone, and perhaps I will take a chance on this one.
