I grabbed the game and enjoyed the first 5 levels. They didn't really get me hooked though.

Couple thoughts:

Archers are too hard to use and don't seem effective enough. Similarly, on each level upgrades seemed too linear and cheap. My favorite parts of the flash game "Age of War," which this reminds me of very strongly, were a) the depth involved in upgrading to the next age and b) turret management. In Battle Horn, in contrast, the best strategy seems to be to buy all upgrades as the game lets you and spam low level units.

Battle Horn has great potential, but I would like to see more options and less linearity.

it is not that easy on later levels.

I believe you, but the demo doesn't capture that. I'm torn between buying the level pack because I've played PK2D and trust you as a developer vs. deleting the app because the first five levels didn't sell the product well.

I'll think of what can be done about that

Do you have any screenshots of the ipad version?

They are in the app store, the app is universal.

It uses iphone interface, pixel-scaled 2X. Looks very sharp and retro-cool.

The game does not feel balanced to me. The skeleton archers kill
my men rather quickly. My archers seem to take longer to take out the
enemy archers.

The one or two times you can have the King rally the troops to clear
the enemy troops ,feels kind of a cheap way of doing things.

I just do not feel in control and do not see , much strategy here.

What's the point of having mounted warriors , who should be able to burst
through enemy ranks to get at their intended target, get stopped by the
first enemy they encounter?

Oh they do - from the third upgrade or so, they get good bonuses and skills.

When you get more advanced troops, you get much more action

I already deleted this game. In all fairness, I will try it again and give
more impressions.
