It seems like only the Strange Loves games and Trial of the Clone is 99. The rest are $1.99...

Is this the best of the Tin Man games? Is it short?

Depends on what your looking for, personally I like the original books 1-8 that tin man put out as I like the fantasy setting/style more than sci fi stuff, it's good game book though.

I never played or read Tin Man books or games. Would this be a good to start with?

I'd say start with which ever one you like the sound of, if you like sci if then grab this or infinite universe if you like fantasy the get a different one.

I found this one surprisingly fun. The humor is pretty crude, but still has that bizarre sort of adventure game vibe.

Most of the combat and skill tests seem a bit unbalanced. Only because you're either going to have made a previous decision that 90% guarantees your success, or you're totally screwed with no hope short of rolling straight 6's.

The Wil Wheaton voiceover is also a lot of fun, but it's not on by default, and the only control you have over the playback is essentially a pause button.

Social Games: Pocket Mine 2, Terra Battle, PAD

I downloaded it, but haven't played Trial of the Clones. Didn't the developer update all their Gamebook Adventures to allow bypassing combat and backtracking?
